Don’t Take A Cab (from cassette tape)

This song appeared on Bill’s album Lookin’ For Paradise. Bill recorded the song in the 1980’s on a reel-to-reel tape machine, and the reel-to-reel version was digitized for use on the album. At some point Bill had copied this recording from the original reel onto a cassette tape… and the audio result is somewhat noisy, but there are some cool sounds – unintended imperfections resulting from the tape transfer process, the lo-fi nature of 1/8″ cassette tape, and the deterioration of the tape from being played many times over the years. It’s easiest to hear these oddities when listening with headphones. Sometimes imperfections can be cool.
