But You Know I Love You
This song was written in the late 1960’s by Mike Settle of Kenny Rogers and The First Edition. Dolly Parton recorded it in 1980, and her recording reached the top of the country singles charts. Who doesn’t love Dolly?
Bill Schachter recorded it in the early 1980’s… and no one ever heard his recording. Well, here it is. Full of heart and pleasantly mellow.
In truth, it’s uncomfortable to still be managing Bill’s “project”… he’s no longer here with us. He’s not here to discuss the latest progress, to see the plans unfolding, to celebrate mildly, or to respond with a broken-hearted indifference, as he sometimes did. It’s distressing. But you know I love you. Thanks for listening.
