When Grandma was born everybody was sad
They thought that it was a had been
They never knew that when Grandma grew up
She’d have purple hair

Oh well I saw her on the street my friend
She had a bottle of purple hair
She put it on – She covered up the gray
And they saw her and washed her away

And after that she was happy
She didn’t care much
She loved that purplish baldy head
She didn’t cry or say
Oh I have baldy head and that
My teeth fell out and they all are false
But I never failed it and when it was done
I was a dirty one

When she was on the street
There was a crack in the sidewalk
She tripped on it and fell on her stomach
And her teeth fell out
And the bottle of purple hairspray
Fell out of her pocket
And the world knew that it wasn’t natural
That’s how we found out

Where her hair is purple all day
She thought she would die when she looked at her kids
And they didn’t have purple hair
